Dashboard access can be managed through the Permissions system, or by making it public.
Both items are listed in the actions menu of the Dashboard.

Make public / Make private

What is a Public dashboard

By default, content on Alpana Server is secured behind the authentication an permissions system.
However, in some cases you may wish to share content to users without requiring a login.

When you turn a Dashboard Public, it becomes accessible for viewing to everyone who can access the URL.

This is useful for example if you want to share this dashboard to many users on a public website.

Making it public/private

From the Dashboard’s action menu, select Make public to make the Dashboard Public.
The Dashboard becomes marked with the Public icon :

To make the Dashboard private again, select Make private from the Dashboard’s action menu.

Managing Public Dashboards

You can filter the Dashboards list to see only Public Dashboards, just check the corresponding option in the top bar :

Manage permissions

From the Dashboard’s action menu, you can manage its Permissions.
Select Manage permissions to open the corresponding dialog :

The existing Permissions are listed at the bottom of the dialog.

Adding a permission

If you want to override the default permissions, fill-in the Add permission form :

  1. select a User or Role
  2. select the desired Permission
  3. click the validation button :

Removing Permissions

If you want to remove a Permission, click the Remove (trash) icon in front of it in the list :
