From the Administration menu of Alpana Server, logs are available, both at the Host level and at the Tenant level.

Operation logs

The Operation Logs list all operations performed on the application : authenticating, changing settings, etc

Operations Logs are located in Administration > Audit logs under the tab Operation logs :

Viewing Operation Logs

Logs are presented in a list with properties like :

  • Log level : a symbol showing the level of importance of the log (information, warning, error)
  • User name : user authenticated for the operation
  • Service : which application service was responsible for handling the operation
  • Action : which Action was performed or attempted
  • IP address : the IP address of the request
  • Browser : the User Agent of the request
  • Time : when the operation happened

Filtering logs

These properties can be used for filtering the logs : select a Date range and/or another property to filter it (including Advanced filters), then click Refresh to refresh the view including the filters :

Viewing details

You can click the magnifying glass icon in front of a log entry to view details :

This opens a details window with the same information as in the log list, and with more details, like the action Parameters and Error State which can help understand what is happening.

Exporting logs

You can export the filtered logs to Excel by clicking Export to Excel :

Change logs

Lists all changes to “entities” in the database :

  • on Tenants, this is : published Dashboards, published Widgets, published DataSource, …
  • on the Host, this is the Tenants

Viewing Change Logs

Logs are presented in a list with properties like :

  • Action : which Action was performed or attempted on the entity
  • Object : which entity was modified
  • User name : user authenticated for the operation
  • Time : when the operation happened
