Pre-Requisites

This section explains the system requirements to run Alpana Designer.

Software Requirements

The following minimum software requirements are necessary to run Alpana Designer :

Operating System

Windows OS (x64) :

• Windows 7+
• Windows Server 2012+
  

Microsoft .NET Framework

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 must be installed.

An offline installer exists at the following direct link :
https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet-framework/thank-you/net48-offline-installer

(Alternately, go to the download page then download the “Runtime”.)

*Installing this component requires to restart the machine.

AspNet Core

“ASP.NET Core 3.1 Runtime – Windows Hosting Bundle” must be installed.

Installers for latest v3.1.9 can be found at the direct link here :

(Alternately, go to the .NET Core 3.1 download page and select version ASP.NET Core Runtime “Hosting Bundle” for Windows.)

Supported Browsers

Recent versions of Google Chrome, Firefox, Edge (only the recent “Chromium” versions of Microsoft Edge).

Hardware Requirements

The following minimum hardware requirements are necessary to run Alpana Designer, but more is better for bigger projects :

• Processor : Dual Core 32-bit CPU (x86)
• Hard disk : 1 GB, preferably SSD
• RAM : 2 GB, preferably more
• Accelerated graphics
  

*Note : Graphic acceleration
Alpana Designer is a WPF application that requires accelerated graphics for best performance.
On a physical host this is enabled, but on virtual machines this is a dedicated setting (in VmWare, under “Settings>Display>Accelerate 3D graphics”)
