When viewing Dashboards, you can leave comments and have discussions with other users.
You can create comment threads and choose to be notified.
This is a good way to have your analysis and discussion in the same place.
Opening the Comments
To open the Comments panel and start commenting or reading comments, click the Comments button in the top bar or in the menu of widgets :
To close the panel, click the cross at the top right.
Viewing Comments
The Comment panel is divided in Threads, with :
- one Thread for each Widget in the Dashboard that has Comments enabled.
- one Thread for each Dashboard View, that can be viewed only when loading this View.
- one Thread called Main for the Dashboard itself.
Each Thread is inside a tab.
Each Comment shows :
- the user’s name and profile image
- the last modified date
- the number of Likes
- the Comment-level controls (see below for a description)
Comments can be sorted by date or by top Likes.
Commenting
New Comment
To open a Thread, click the Create Thread button.
To write a new Message, click Write a message at the bottom of the Comments panel :
Replies
To attach your Comment to an existing comment, you can Reply to it.
Locate the desired Comment and click Reply to comment :
Comment editor
When creating or editing a Comment, the text editor allows you to write rich text spanning multiple lines (style, links, alignment, etc) :
Liking Comments
You can Like Comments by clicking the Like button :
You can remove your Like by clicking again the same button :
Getting notified
For each Comment thread, you can choose to be notified of new Comments.
This will send a new Notification to you when a new Comment is added to the Thread.
A link in the Notification will take you to the Dashboard and Comment itself.
Subscribing
Click the Subscribe button to be notified :
Unsubscribing
Click the same button to Unsubscribe :
Modifying Comments
You can modify your own Comments :
Editing
Click Edit comment to edit your Comment :
Deleting
Click Delete comment to delete your Comment :
