Version 2021R1 is a major release includes new features and bugfixes.
The application is updated to the latest web technologies (.NET 5), with the latest security features and patches.
Upgrade Instructions
To upgrade your installation, please see the generic upgrading chapter.
Don’t forget to instruct all your users to clear their browser cache or do a hard refresh.
Alpana Server
License upgrade
Important: This is a new major version, so it requires a valid support contract to upgrade, and you must ask for a new license Activation to your support.
New Pre-Requisite
Alpana Server now requires to install a new version of .Net 5 Runtime & Hosting Bundle.

Previous versions of .Net Core may be uninstalled safely if they are not used by other software.

New Pre-Requisites
Alpana Designer now requires to install “ASP.NET Core Runtime 5.0” and “.NET Desktop Runtime 5.0”

Enhanced Feature: New color palette
New color palette will be applied to new dashboard. If you want to keep the old style, please check corresponding chapter : Color Theme
Enhanced Feature: Web connector
The web connector has been improved to connect to more complex restful API. Check chapter to see how to configure it
New Feature: Widget manual export management
It’s now possible to choose in the designer which widget can export his data.
New Feature: OMI options for maximize and refresh
In the OMI configuration, maximize and refresh option is available to enable or disable controls in widgets.

Enhanced Feature: Auto refresh
The widget auto refresh configuration can set which widget will be auto updated.
Enhanced feature: Export notification
The export notification feature now is possible on multiple dashboard tab and stay open as long as you don’t download it. Don’t lose time to wait for it, you can continue your browsing meanwhile the export is in progress and you can go back the tab to get your export. It will just wait for you!

Label widget connected to Data
The widget can connect to data source to show the datas with aggregated feature.

Range navigator color
The range navigator main color can be changed to get a better integration to your interface branding.
Server improvements
Runtime Connections Management
The Runtime connection can be imported or exported for backup purpose or to be transferred to another environment. More information about runtime connection management can be found here
Known Issues and Incompatibilities
- Widget header can overlap content if the font size is too big.
- Due to cyber security rules export in mobile application has been removed. It will be available again in a future release.
